Trump Critiques Weakening US-UK Ties Over Iran Support

In an interview, former US President Donald Trump expressed disappointment regarding the weakening relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom. This sentiment arose after UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer's decision not to provide direct military support for a strike against Iran.

Trump noted that the longstanding alliance between the two nations is no longer as strong, stating it is "sad to see" the relationship deteriorate. He contrasted Britain's position with that of European allies, particularly France, which he claimed would back military operations.

Trump maintained that the United States is fully capable of conducting military operations in the Middle East independently. In response to Trump's remarks, senior British Minister Darren Jones defended the government's cautious stance, emphasizing the historical importance of the US-UK partnership and the lessons learned from Britain's involvement in the 2003 Iraq War.
