Iraq Secures World Cup Spot with 2-1 Win Over Bolivia

Iraq secured its place in the World Cup by defeating Bolivia 2-1 in an intercontinental playoff held on Tuesday. This victory marks Iraq's first World Cup appearance in 40 years, with their last participation in the 1986 finals in Mexico.

The match was disrupted by regional conflicts, which affected Iraq's preparations. Iraq took an early lead in the 9th minute through Ali Al Hamadi, who scored with a header from a corner taken by Amir Al Ammari.

Bolivia equalized in the 38th minute with a goal from Ramiro Vaca. However, Iraq regained the lead in the second half when Aymen Hussein scored after a cross from Marko Lawk Farji.

Despite Bolivia's attempts to force extra time, Iraq's defense held firm during nine minutes of stoppage time. The team is set to compete in a group with France, Senegal, and Norway.
