Ireti Kingibe Wins ADC Senate Ticket for FCT

Ireti Heebah Kingibe has been declared the winner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Senate ticket for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after securing a total of 17,535 votes in the primary election held on Saturday. She significantly outperformed her sole opponent, Mubarak Tijjani, who garnered only 806 votes.

The results were confirmed by Abubakar Adamu, the chairman of the ADC in the FCT, who stated that Kingibe's score was the highest in the primary election for the Senate. Additionally, the primary election produced candidates for two federal House of Representatives seats in the FCT, with Bala Iyah emerging victorious in the Amac Bwari federal constituency with 4,937 votes, followed by Yahaya Fatima Goya with 2,015 votes.

Alhassan Salihu also secured the party ticket in another constituency with 9,016 votes, defeating Khalid Haruna, who received 2,955 votes. Iyah expressed confidence in the party's prospects for the 2027 general elections.
