Eze Ohanweh to Unveil 12ft Statue at Iriji Isiama Fiesta

Eze Dr. Oliv Ohanweh will celebrate the Iriji Isiama cultural fiesta on October 10, 2026, in Isiama, Isiala Mbano LGA, Imo State. The event will feature the unveiling of a 12ft statue of the late warrior Osuji Olukpai, who is renowned for resisting British colonial forces in 1847.

This statue, weighing 150kg and carved from iroko wood, represents a significant cultural artifact and is part of a multi-million naira project. The fiesta will include various cultural displays such as dance, masquerades, and performances by comedians, reaffirming the community's commitment to preserving Igbo heritage.

Ez Dr. Cletu Ilomuanya, the chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, emphasized the importance of the event in celebrating the bravery and exploits of ancient Igbo leaders. The occasion aims to attract distinguished guests from within and outside the state, ensuring a grand celebration of cultural pride.
