Ihedioha Urges Cultural Heritage Preservation at Iriji Mbaise

At the 2026 annual Iriji Mbaise Cultural Festival held at Oke Ovoro Secondary School in Uvuru, Mbaise, former Governor of Imo, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, called on Imo communities to preserve their cultural heritage while embracing development.

He emphasized the significance of cultural identity and urged the people of Mbaise to value and pass on their history, traditions, and institutions to future generations. Ihedioha commended the leadership of Ezurueze, led by Surveyor Joe Ogbonna Anosike, for organizing the festival and recognized contributions from Mbaise sons and daughters both at home and abroad.

He praised the community for maintaining unity despite challenges in organizing the event, which showcased their commitment to protecting cultural heritage. The festival gathered traditional rulers, political leaders, and community members, providing an opportunity to celebrate the new harvest and reinforce community bonds.

Dignitaries included Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, Rt. Hon. Emeka Chinedu Martins, and representatives from various organizations.
