Isa Yuguda's Death Rumors Denied by Close Associates

On September 25, 2026, reports circulating on social media claiming that former Bauchi Governor Isa Yuguda had died were dismissed as false by his close associates. Alhaji Salisu Barau, a close associate, confirmed that Yuguda was alive and well, urging the public to disregard the false claims.

Abdulmumini Kundak, a former aide to Yuguda, echoed this denial, labeling the reports as misinformation. Isa Yuguda, born on June 15, 1956, served as the Governor of Bauchi from 2007 to 2011 and was previously the federal Minister of Aviation from May 2003 to June 2005.

At 70 years old, he is also a Renewed Hope Ambassador and Coordinator for the North-East, remaining a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a recent interview, he expressed concerns about the treatment of Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria, advocating for government support for pastoralism similar to agricultural subsidies.
