INEC Warns Nigerians About Fake Recruitment for 2027 Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has alerted Nigerians about a fraudulent message that falsely claims the commission is recruiting and training ad-hoc staff for the 2027 General Election. INEC confirmed that the message directs the public to a non-affiliated website, which is not an official recruitment portal.

In a public notice, INEC urged Nigerians not to engage with the fraudulent link by clicking on it, submitting personal information, uploading documents, or making payments. The commission emphasized that all legitimate recruitment exercises and election-related announcements are communicated solely through its verified channels and official website, inecnigeria.org.

This warning is not the first instance of INEC addressing fake recruitment notices, as the commission has previously cautioned the public about misleading advertisements masquerading as official communications. INEC advised the public to completely disregard the current fake notice and refrain from sharing it to prevent further exposure to potential fraud and identity theft.
