Isak's Brace Leads Liverpool to First Win of the Season

Liverpool FC secured their first Premier League win of the season with a 2-0 victory over newly promoted Ipswich Town at Portman Road, thanks to a brace from Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker, who joined Liverpool from Newcastle United for a British record £125m transfer fee 12 months ago, scored both goals within the first nine minutes of the match.

The win also marked the first victory for manager Andoni Iraola, ensuring he did not become the first Liverpool manager since Brendan Rodgers to fail to win any of his opening three Premier League games. Isak's first goal came in the sixth minute after an assist from Cody Gakpo, followed by a second goal just three minutes later from another Gakpo assist.

Despite Ipswich's attempts to respond, including a near miss from Daizen Maeda, they could not find the net. Isak was denied a hat-trick by an offside call before Liverpool introduced new signing Bradley Barcola, who joined from Paris St-Germain for £123m.
