Isoko Nation Demands Accountability from Delta Lawmakers

The group highlights the infrastructural deficits that have led to a decade-long neglect of the Isoko area, which significantly contributes to the state's economy as a major oil-producing region.

They commend Governor Oborevwori for his ongoing efforts to rehabilitate power infrastructure, specifically mentioning the abandoned Ozoro 132/33kV transmission line substation. However, they criticize local lawmakers for their lack of action and commitment to their constitutional duties.

The group demands that lawmakers actively monitor state projects and ensure that budgetary allocations for the area are fully implemented. They also call for collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) to expedite the Ozoro power project, warning against passive representation and urging swift positive change.
