Group Urges Delta Governor for 24-Hour Electricity Supply

The Solidar Group, represented by Morrison Igelig, has issued an open letter to Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, demanding urgent measures to address the persistent power crisis in the state.

The group argues that despite Delta's significant financial resources, the lack of stable electricity continues to hinder local businesses and deter potential investors. They emphasize the need for reliable 24-hour power supply as a driver of economic growth.

The group calls for the prioritization of infrastructure development, including the construction of independent power plants and the completion of abandoned projects such as the Okpai second phase and Oghara gas turbines. They also advocate for capable leadership to ensure effective energy commission operations and the implementation of expert roadmaps.

The statement concludes with a call for the government to convert resources into tangible infrastructure that guarantees consistent electricity for communities, which would significantly lower household operational expenses and create employment opportunities.
