Israel Strikes Syrian Military Targets Amid Druze Clashes

Israel launched airstrikes against Syrian military infrastructure in the southern region of Syria, specifically targeting a command center and weapon storage facilities. This action was described by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) as a response to recent clashes involving the Druze community in Suweida province.

The Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, emphasized that Israel will not tolerate any harm to the Druze population in Syria and will continue operations to defend them. The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes, labeling them an outrageous assault on Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and criticized Israel's justification as a flimsy pretext.

The situation escalated following increased violence in Suweida, where clashes between government forces and local armed groups have intensified.
