Israel and Nigeria Enhance Innovation Partnership

The State of Israel and Nigeria have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in innovation, research, and entrepreneurship during the graduation ceremony of the fourth cohort of the Israel–Nigeria i-FAIR (Israel Forum for Academic Innovation and Research) program at Innov8 Hub in Abuja. Ambassador of Israel to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, emphasized that the program symbolizes the potential of collaboration over aid, aiming to empower Nigerian innovators to create local solutions.

He announced that funding for the next phase, i-FAIR 5, has been secured, with a launch scheduled for October 2026. Over the past four and a half years, cooperation between Israel and Nigeria has expanded across various sectors, including agriculture and technology, leading to stronger business partnerships.

Freeman praised Arc. Sunday Echono, Executive Secretary of TETFund, for his critical role in the program's success and acknowledged Innov8 Hub as a key innovation partner.
