Israeli Troops Kill Two in Southern Lebanon Amid Ceasefire

On a recent Tuesday, Israeli troops shot and killed two individuals in southern Lebanon, specifically near Nabatieh al Fawqa, marking the first fatalities reported since a ceasefire was established. The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed the deaths, which occurred as the men were near a bulldozer attempting to unblock a road.

Hezbollah condemned the shooting, labeling it a blatant violation of the ceasefire. The Israeli military stated that the soldiers fired upon individuals they perceived as threats, claiming they were Hezbollah militants on motorcycles.

This incident follows a series of escalated hostilities, including an Israeli airstrike that killed 83 people on a Friday afternoon. The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with reports indicating that at least 192 people have died since the hostilities began, and 1.2 million people have been displaced.

The situation remains tense, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserting that Israeli troops have full freedom to act against Hezbollah threats.
