Nigeria Commits to Inclusive Social Security at ISSA Seminar

On Wednesday, during the ISSA West Africa seminar held in Abuja, Nigeria's Minister of Labor and Employment, Dr. Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to strengthening the social security system and enhancing access across West Africa.

The seminar, organized by the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) in collaboration with the International Social Security Association (ISSA), focused on improving inclusive access to social security services. Dingyadi highlighted that social security is a fundamental pillar of social justice and economic growth, especially in a rapidly changing world characterized by technological advancements.

He noted that the government, under President Bola Tinubu, prioritizes inclusive social investments for national development. The seminar brought together various stakeholders, including government representatives and technical experts, to share knowledge and best practices.

Abubakar Bagudu, the Senate representative, emphasized the importance of achieving an inclusive social security system across West Africa, noting shared challenges among countries in the sub-region.
