Makinde Urges Unity Against Insecurity in Oyo State

On Tuesday, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State addressed a peaceful protest organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) at the state secretariat. The protest was in response to the recent abduction of 39 students and seven teachers from Oriir Local Government Area.

During his address, Makinde emphasized that the current insecurity issues should not be politicized, warning against attempts to trade blame or use the situation for political gain. He described the incidents as tragic and called for unity among government levels to confront the security challenges facing the country.

Makinde urged all stakeholders, including students, workers, and teachers, to trust the government to address these pressing issues, stressing that it is not a normal situation when fellow humans are harmed.
