CAC Registrar Apologizes to Senate Over Invitation Snub

On Monday, the Registrar of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Magaji, issued an unreserved apology to the Senate Committee on Finance for not attending a previous invitation. This absence heightened tensions and raised concerns among lawmakers regarding the executive's disregard for legislative summons.

Following this incident, the Senate, represented by Orji Uzor Kalu, recommended the immediate removal of Magaji by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Senator Sani Musa accused the CAC boss of consistently ignoring invitations from the National Assembly.

In response to the apology, several senators expressed their remorse and urged the committee to reconsider its earlier recommendation for Magaji's removal. Senator Yahaya Abdullahi commended the apology, while Senator Isah Jibrin moved a motion to rescind the committee's earlier recommendation, which was seconded by Senator Nasir Zango and unanimously adopted.

Magaji attributed his absence to a communication gap within the commission and assured the committee that corrective steps would be taken.
