Senate Withdraws Motion to Remove CAC Registrar General

The Nigerian Senate has made a significant decision to withdraw its motion seeking the removal of Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). This motion was initially proposed due to Magaji's repeated failure to appear before the Senate, which raised concerns regarding oversight responsibilities.

However, during a Senate committee meeting, Magaji expressed remorse and apologized, promising to enhance communication with the National Assembly and establish a liaison office to prevent future misunderstandings. The committee chairman voiced displeasure over Magaji's past absences but acknowledged his commitment to improve cooperation.

Senators Ned Nwoko and Orji Uzor Kalu advocated for Magaji's forgiveness, citing his reputation and dedication to Nigeria. The motion to withdraw the earlier proposal was approved unanimously.

Magaji has been tasked with presenting the 2024-2025 budget, which the committee deemed insufficient.
