Senate Reverses Decision on CAC Registrar's Removal

On Monday, the Nigerian Senate rescinded its previous resolution to remove Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, the registrar of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). This decision came after Magaji expressed remorse for his repeated failure to appear before the Senate, which had led to a motion for his removal introduced by Senator Jibrin Isa from Kogi East.

The Senate's committee on finance, chaired by Senator Nasir Musa Zango Daura, had previously expressed dissatisfaction with Magaji's absence, stating that it undermined their oversight powers. During the session, Magaji offered an unreserved apology and committed to ensuring better communication to prevent future misunderstandings.

The committee accepted his apology and sought forgiveness, indicating a willingness to maintain a cooperative relationship moving forward.
