ITF and CTIN to Train 100,000 Artisans by 2026

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and the Cement Technology Institute of Nigeria (CTIN) have announced a landmark skill development program aimed at training and upskilling 100,000 artisans in Nigeria's construction sector. Ngor Thoma, head of ITF's press and public relations unit, disclosed that the training will be conducted in collaboration with CTIN and will cover essential skills such as masonry, carpentry, joinery, tiling, electrical installation, plastering, and plumbing.

The official launch of this initiative is scheduled for April 21, 2026, at Eko Hotel in Lagos, and is expected to attract key stakeholders from the government and industry, including Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Senator John Owan Enoh, and prominent figures from Nigeria's industrial sector like Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Alhaji Abdulsamad Isyaku Rabiu. Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun emphasized the program's alignment with ITF's mandate to equip Nigerian industries with relevant skills, addressing the critical need for improved workmanship in the construction industry to mitigate risks associated with substandard practices.
