Itsekiri Group Demands Leadership Change, Opposes Guwor

The Itsekiri Youth Good Governance (IYGG) has expressed its support for the Itsekiri Grassroot Coalition's (IGC) call for a change in leadership, specifically opposing the return of Emomotimi Guwor to office. This stance follows the IGC's 5th National Congress held in Warri, where they highlighted the failures of current leadership, including Senator Joel Onowakpo Thomas and Chief Thomas Ereyiitomi, who represent the Delta South Senatorial District and Warri Federal Constituency, respectively.

IYGG's chairman, Comrade Mone Ori, stated that the current lawmakers have not effectively delivered on their legislative responsibilities, which has negatively impacted the welfare of their constituents. The group believes that the Itsekiri people deserve capable and responsible representation.

They also criticized the current Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, for failing to promote legislation that fosters peace and unity within local government areas. The IYGG has vowed to resist any political moves aimed at returning Guwor to office and calls for the Itsekiri people worldwide to support credible candidates who genuinely understand their aspirations.
