Iyabo Obasanjo Rejoins PDP After 15-Year Absence

Iyabo Obasanjo has officially rejoined the People's Democratic Party (PDP) after a 15-year absence from active politics. She previously served as the Ogun State Commissioner for Health and lost her re-election bid in 2011 while on the PDP platform.

Following her departure from the PDP, she pursued an academic career and rose to the rank of professor. On Monday, she announced her resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing persistent disrespect and maltreatment from the party's leadership in Ogun State.

Upon her arrival at the PDP secretariat in Abeokuta, she received a warm welcome from party leaders and members. During the event, she participated in the unveiling of the PDP's deputy governorship candidate, Dr.

Lateefat Kolapo Sowunmi, alongside the party's governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, and the state chairman, Abayomi Tella. Iyabo Obasanjo is scheduled to officially rejoin the PDP on Tuesday.
