JAMB Confirms No Increase in 2026 UTME Fees

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially debunked rumors regarding an increase in the registration fees for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). In a statement issued by Fabian Benjamin, the Public Communication Advisor to the board, it was clarified that the registration fees remain at N3,500 for the application fee, N1,000 for reading text, N700 for CBT center registration service charge, N1,500 for CBT center UTME service charge, N500 for bank charge, and N1,500 for CBT mock UTME center charge.

These fees have been consistent since 2019, following a reduction approved by the Federal Executive Council from N5,000 to N3,500. JAMB urged candidates and parents to disregard any misleading claims and to rely on official communications.

Additionally, the board warned that failure to register within the stipulated timeframe would result in forfeiture of previous admission offers and stressed the mandatory use of Microsoft camera systems at accredited CBT centers to enhance identity verification and prevent impersonation.
