JAMB Requires University Students to Declare Matriculation Status for UTME Registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Nigeria has issued a directive requiring university students to declare their matriculation status or face the risk of forfeiting their UTME registration. Dr.

Fabian Benjamin, a spokesperson for JAMB, clarified that failure to disclose matriculation status is an offense that could lead to the automatic cessation of previous admissions. He emphasized the need for candidates to adhere to the statutory mandate to prevent multiple admissions.

Benjamin cautioned against misleading information and urged the public to carefully follow official guidelines to avoid misinterpretation. JAMB also highlighted the importance of maintaining exam integrity and announced the commencement of the 2026 UTME registration process.

The board emphasized the implementation of rules for computer-based testing centers to curb registration infractions and ensure the integrity of the examination process.
