JAMB Sets Conditions for UTME Candidates to Disclose Matriculation Status

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has outlined conditions for undergraduates to take the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Dr.

Fabian Benjamin, the JAMB spokesperson, stressed the importance of candidates openly declaring their matriculation status to avoid risking existing admissions. Failure to disclose this information could lead to the invalidation of current or future admissions.

JAMB clarified that Nigerian law prohibits candidates from holding two admissions simultaneously. The board's digital system can trace previous matriculation records to prevent multiple admissions.

JAMB aims to protect the credibility of the examination process and curb irregularities. Registration for the 2026 UTME began on January 26, with enhanced measures such as computer-based testing centers equipped with remote monitoring facilities.
