JAMB Rejects Lead City Law Admissions, Warns Against CAPS Bypass

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially rejected admissions to the law faculty of Lead City University, which has been under a five-year suspension. In a public statement issued on Thursday, JAMB's public advisor, Dr.

Fabian Benjamin, explained that the board received numerous complaints regarding the admission of students to the university's law faculty despite its suspended status. JAMB emphasized that no admissions should be conducted outside the Central Admissions Process System (CAPS), which is the only authorized platform for processing admissions in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Consequently, any admissions made during this period are considered void. JAMB further warned prospective candidates to avoid accepting admission offers that do not follow the CAPS process, reiterating that such offers are illegitimate and could lead to complications.

The board also raised concerns about attempts by certain universities to bypass admission rules through improper transfers, stating that inter-university transfers will not be endorsed without valid admissions through CAPS.
