JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Results for Underage Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced the release of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results for underage candidates, defined as those who will not be 16 years old by September 30, 2026. Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB's Public Communication Adviser, stated that while the results are available for assessment by candidates and their guardians, they do not automatically qualify for admission into tertiary institutions.

Candidates must achieve a minimum UTME score of 320 and at least 80 percent in relevant Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination subjects, among other requirements, to be considered for special admission. JAMB emphasized that the admission process for these candidates is rigorous and ongoing, awaiting the release of National Examinations Council results before concluding assessments.

The Board will announce the date for the final assessment stage once the NECO results are available.
