JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Results for Underage Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for underage candidates, defined as those below 16 years of age as of September 30, 2026. JAMB's spokesman, Dr Fabian Benjamin, stated that the release of these results does not automatically qualify candidates for admission into tertiary institutions.

The results are intended for candidates and their guardians to review performance. To be eligible for admission, underage candidates must score at least 320 in the UTME and achieve a minimum of 80 percent in relevant Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination subjects.

They must also meet the Post-UTME requirements of their chosen institutions and undergo a final assessment by experts. JAMB is awaiting the release of the National Examinations Council (NECO) results before proceeding with the final assessment process.

The Board warned against presenting results to institutions if the requirements are not met and cautioned against individuals claiming to secure admission outside the approved process.
