JAMB Sets 150 Cut-Off Mark for 2026 University Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved a minimum cut-off mark of 150 for university admissions for the 2026 academic session, while maintaining a minimum score of 100 for admissions into polytechnics and monotechnics. This resolution was reached during a policy meeting held in Abuja, presided over by Dr.

Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education. The registrar of JAMB, Prof.

Ishaq Oloyed, emphasized the importance of adhering to the approved admission schedule, warning that institutions failing to meet the deadlines would no longer have access to candidates for the session. The timeline for completing the admission process across tertiary institutions is set for public universities by October 31, 2026, and for private universities until November 30, 2026.

The entire admission exercise for polytechnics and monotechnics must conclude by December 31, 2026. Failure to accept admission offers within the stipulated period may lead to withdrawal of offers and ineligibility for future admissions.
