James Milner Sets New Premier League Appearance Record

On February 21, James Milner made history by breaking the Premier League appearance record during Brighton's match against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium. This match marked Milner's 654th appearance in the top flight, surpassing the long-standing record held by Gareth Barry.

Milner had drawn level with Barry earlier in the week during Brighton's trip to Aston Villa. Brighton's head coach, Fabian Hurzel, praised Milner's remarkable journey, which began as a teenager at Leeds United in 2002.

Throughout his career, Milner has played for notable clubs including Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Liverpool, winning three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup, and a Champions League. He remains under contract with Brighton until the end of the season.
