James Rodriguez Hospitalized for Severe Dehydration

James Rodriguez, a former Real Madrid star, was hospitalized for severe dehydration following Colombia's 3-1 defeat to France in a friendly match held in Maryland on Sunday. The Colombian Football Federation released a statement on Thursday confirming that Rodriguez spent 72 hours in a Minnesota hospital after suffering from dehydration.

He had played just an hour in the match, coming on as a substitute. The 34-year-old midfielder is expected to lead Colombia in the upcoming FIFA World Cup, where they will face Portugal, DR Congo, and Uzbekistan in Group K.

Prior to the match against France, Rodriguez earned his 100th cap during a friendly against Croatia earlier in the week. The federation provided an update on his health, stating that he would return home to continue his recovery from this health scare.
