Javier Mascherano Resigns as Inter Miami Head Coach

Javier Mascherano has officially stepped down as the head coach of Inter Miami CF following a remarkable season that culminated in the club's first MLS Cup victory. Under his leadership, Inter Miami achieved significant milestones, including winning the Eastern Conference title and scoring a record 101 goals across the regular season and playoffs, the highest total in a single Major League Soccer campaign.

The team also set a postseason record with 20 goals in 58 competitive matches and reached the knockout round of the FIFA Club World Cup, becoming the first MLS club to do so. Mascherano's coaching staff will also depart in January 2024, with assistant coach Guillermo Hoyo taking over the first team.

Chief Soccer Officer Alberto Marrero will assume the duties of sports director immediately as the club begins its search for a permanent replacement for Mascherano.
