JDPC Launches Health Campaign in 21 Anambra Communities

Justice Development Peace Caritas (JDPC) Nnewi executed a health awareness campaign across 21 rural communities in Anambra State, as part of the Strengthening Public Accountability for Results and Knowledge (SPARK 2) programme. The campaign, which took place in August, was tailored to address specific health issues pertinent to each community.

Rev. Fr. Benedict Okolo, the Director of JDPC Nnewi, stated that the outreach aimed to increase community awareness of available Primary Health Care (PHC) services, including Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) enrollment, National Identification Number (NIN) registration, free antenatal care (ANC), and free delivery services. The sessions encouraged residents to engage with health workers and provide feedback on healthcare delivery challenges.

Rev. Fr. Okolo emphasized that the outreach was designed to promote the utilization of free ANC and delivery services, thereby fostering collaboration between communities, Ward Development Committees (WDCs), and PHC staff.
