Jigawa State Launches Quarterly Meetings for Local Governments

On Wednesday, the Jigawa state government, in collaboration with the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development, the Local Government Service Commission, and the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), introduced a quarterly meeting for all staff of the 27 local government areas. This initiative aims to improve performance and service delivery within the local government sector.

The announcement was made in a press statement by Public Relations Officer Najib Umar and was presented by Alhaji Muhammad Yusha’u Jaji, the permanent secretary of the ministry, who represented the commissioner at a joint meeting of key stakeholders. The initiative is designed to streamline policy implementation and strengthen management within the local government areas, aligning them with the developmental priorities of the current administration led by Governor Umar Namadi.

The decision to implement these meetings was deemed necessary due to emerging challenges within the sector that require coordinated responses for effective resolution.
