Jigawa State Partners with Lafiya Nigeria for Healthcare

The Jigawa State Executive Council approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lafiya Nigeria to strengthen reproductive healthcare services and improve maternal health outcomes across the state. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Governor Malam Umar Namadi, following a request from the Ministry of Health.

The Jigawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (JSPHCDA) briefed journalists on the partnership, which aims to enhance the delivery of quality reproductive health services through strategic interventions in primary healthcare facilities. The collaboration will focus on capacity building for healthcare workers, providing technical support, and improving service delivery while engaging communities to implement evidence-based reproductive health programs.

Mr. Sagir Musa, the Commissioner for Youth, Sports, and Culture, noted that this initiative is expected to reinforce the state government's commitment to strengthening the healthcare system, improving access to quality maternal and reproductive health services, and aligning with Governor Umar Namadi's healthcare agenda to achieve universal health coverage.
