Jigawa By-election: Tinubu's Minister Rubbishes Claim Of Losing Polling Unit as APC Defeats PDP

Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has refuted claims of losing his polling unit in the Jigawa by-election, where the APC defeated the PDP. Reports had suggested that the PDP secured 308 votes while the APC, to which the minister belongs, only got 112 votes at polling unit 001 in Babura Kofar Primary School.

Badaru's aide, Mati Ali, dismissed these reports as false and misleading, stating that the authentic results released by INEC showed the APC winning. INEC declared Mukhtar Rabiu as the winner of the federal constituency, with the APC candidate receiving the most votes.

Despite the minister allegedly losing his polling unit, observers noted the peaceful conduct of the election across polling units. Political analysts view the election results as a confirmation of the defence minister's diminishing political influence.
