Outcome of APC vs PDP Battle at Defence Minister's Polling Unit Finally Announced

The battle between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Defence Minister's polling unit in Kano has been decided. APC emerged victorious with 188 votes, while PDP secured 164 votes.

The former governor of the state, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, who is now the Minister of Defence, cast his ballot amidst heavy security presence but declined to speak to reporters. Confusion arose initially when reports suggested Badaru had lost at his polling station, but it was later clarified that the result was from a different booth within the same school.

The voter turnout was relatively high, reflecting strong public interest in the election. In a separate race in Kano, APC won a supplementary election, solidifying its dominance in the state.

However, the NNPP also recorded success in another Kano race. Tensions arose during the contest, with accusations of INEC officials attempting to influence the outcome.
