Jigawa bye-election: INEC pledges free, fair, credible poll

INEC has pledged to conduct a free, fair, and credible bye-election in Jigawa State. The National Commissioner, Prof Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, visited the Jigawa State Police Headquarters in Dutse to ensure preparations for the election.

He commended the Commissioner of Police and his team for their commitment to ensuring a peaceful electoral process. The Police Commissioner, CP Dahiru Muhammad, reaffirmed the command's dedication to providing adequate security for the election and urged political parties, candidates, and supporters to conduct themselves peacefully.

He warned that the police would deal decisively with anyone attempting to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere. Residents of Babura and Garki Local Government Areas were encouraged to come out and vote without fear, as adequate security measures would be in place to ensure a safe and secure environment for the electoral process.
