Jigawa High Court Announces Ramadan Recess Dates

The Jigawa State High Court, under the leadership of Hon. Justice Umar M.

Sadiq, has officially announced a Ramadan recess scheduled from Monday, March 9, 2026, to Thursday, March 19, 2026. During this period, court activities will be suspended, except for urgent matters that may arise.

This recess aligns with a recent directive from the Jigawa State government, which has reduced working hours for civil servants during Ramadan to accommodate fasting. The new working hours are set from 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Thursday, and 9 AM to 1 PM on Fridays.

The announcement was made available to journalists in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, by Abba Wangara, the Director of Public Protocol for the judiciary. The recess aims to enable judges and court staff to observe the holy month of Ramadan and participate in the Eid el-Fitr celebrations following the recess.
