Jigawa Enhances Community Policing Through Tradition

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi announced the state's commitment to strengthening community policing through traditional institutions to enhance trust and cooperation in security initiatives. This declaration was made during the opening of a two-day interactive session at the Armed Forces Command Staff College held at Sir Ahmadu Bello Hall in Dutsin-Ma.

Governor Namadi, alongside Deputy Governor Aminu Usman, stressed that addressing modern security challenges requires collaboration beyond military efforts. He noted the importance of traditional rulers and community leaders in building grassroots security structures, improving intelligence gathering, and promoting peace.

The session welcomed participation from senior officers and aimed to exchange ideas and gain practical exposure in security management. Malam Bala Ibrahim, Secretary to the State Government, reiterated the administration's commitment to improving citizen welfare through investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.

Brigadier General B.O. Omopariola, leading the delegation, acknowledged Jigawa's reputation for peace and stability.
