JNI Urges Government Action After Maiduguri Blasts

The Jama'atu Nasril Islam (JNI), led by Prof. Khalid Aliyu, condemned the triple blasts that occurred in Maiduguri, which left over 100 individuals injured.

The organization criticized the government's response to the attacks, attributing them to the resurgence of the Islamic State West Africa Province in the northeast. The JNI expressed concern over the declining vigilance among security agencies and the public, describing the recurrent attacks in Borno as alarming.

They urged the federal government to take decisive action, including a comprehensive overhaul of the security architecture and the implementation of proactive measures to counter evolving insurgent tactics. Additionally, the JNI called for enhanced intelligence gathering and collaboration between citizens and security agencies.

They emphasized the need for the Nigerian populace to remain vigilant and intensify prayers during Ramadan. The statement also included condolences from Sultan Sa'ad Abubakar and highlighted the importance of compensating the victims' families and ensuring adequate medical care for the injured.
