Ekiti LG Vice Chairman Mr. Grace Ogunley Rescued Unhurt

Mr. Grace Ogunley, the vice chairman of Ilejemej Local Government Area in Ekiti State, was kidnapped on May 20, 2026, along the Iper-Iludun Ekiti road. His vehicle was later found abandoned, and his whereabouts remained unknown as his mobile phone was switched off.

The Ekiti State Police Command, through spokesperson Sundai Abutu, announced that Ogunley was rescued unharmed following a joint operation involving police, military, and local security personnel. The operation was initiated under the directive of Commissioner Micheal Falad, who ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to uncover the motives behind the kidnapping.

This incident follows a previous attack on April 28, 2026, when unknown gunmen attacked the Christ Apostolic Church in Eda Oniyo, Ilejemej Local Government Area, resulting in the death of a pastor and the abduction of 15 worshippers, who remain missing.
