Jonathan to Keynote Megastar Awards on Democracy in Abuja

The third edition of the Megastar Man of the Decade Awards will take place on October 16 in Abuja, featuring former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the keynote speaker. The event, hosted at Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments, aims to engage distinguished Nigerians from various sectors in discussions about democracy, citizenship, and political engagement as Nigeria approaches the 2027 electoral cycle.

The theme, ‘The Road to 2027: Citizens, Stakeholders, and the Democracy We Choose,’ emphasizes the importance of active citizenship and accountable leadership. Jonathan's participation is significant due to his experience in Nigeria's democratic governance and his role in the peaceful transfer of power after the 2015 presidential election.

The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, and Olori Atuwatse III will serve as the Royal Father and Mother of the Day, highlighting the role of traditional institutions in promoting national cohesion. The event will also feature a panel discussion with prominent figures, including former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki and other notable leaders, focusing on the responsibilities of various stakeholders in shaping Nigeria's democracy.
