Mutfwang Defends Tinubu's Meeting Amid Security Concerns

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State defended President Bola Tinubu's recent visit to the state, emphasizing that the venue of the meeting is not as significant as the substance of the discussions held. During an appearance on Channels Television, Mutfwang noted that the meeting demonstrated Tinubu's concern regarding the recent violent incidents in the region.

He described these incidents as quite challenging and marked a disturbing shift from previous attacks, which were largely confined to rural communities. Mutfwang confirmed that no arrests had been made yet but assured that security agencies are actively working on intelligence to apprehend those responsible for the attacks.

He characterized the recent attack as premeditated and professionally executed, urging caution against premature conclusions regarding the motives behind the violence. The governor also referenced a separate incident in Wase Local Government Area, where security personnel were ambushed.
