Joshua Dedicates Comeback Win to Late Friends

Nigerian-British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua dedicated his victory over Kristian Prenga to his late friends and trainers, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, who were killed in a car crash in Ogun State, Nigeria, in December. Joshua, who entered the ring in camouflage attire honoring the deceased, overcame two knockdowns in the first round to achieve a second-round knockout.

He described the win as a tribute to Ghami and Ayodele, stating, “It’s what champions do. We rise, we get knocked down and we stand up and keep going.” Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, praised his resilience, noting the personal tragedy he faced over the past seven months.

Hearn confirmed that contracts for a highly anticipated fight between Joshua and fellow Briton Tyson Fury have been signed, though the date and venue are yet to be announced. Joshua expressed respect for Fury's achievements and readiness for the upcoming contest.
