Joshua Stops Prenga in Jeddah After Early Knockdowns

In a heavyweight contest in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Anthony Joshua faced Albanian boxer Prenga, who had a record of 20-1. Prenga initially floored Joshua twice with a right uppercut in the first round, marking the first knockdown of Joshua's career.

However, Joshua recovered and stopped Prenga in the second round. After the fight, Prenga credited Joshua's power for the stoppage, stating, “Of course, it’s power because it’s the first time I got knocked down in my career.” Joshua dedicated his victory to the memory of two close friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, who tragically died in a car crash in Nigeria in December.

Joshua expressed the emotional weight of the victory, saying, “It is more than punch power. That was spirit, that was Latz, that was Sina, that was the families.” This fight represented a significant step up in competition for Prenga.
