Julius Berger Completes Bodo-Bonny Road Project in River State

Julius Berger Nigeria PLC has successfully completed the Bodo-Bonny Road project, a significant infrastructure development in River State, which spans 37.9 kilometers. The project was awarded to Julius Berger on October 20, 2017, and has undergone several cost reviews throughout its duration.

Engr. Tim Nippert, the project manager, announced the completion during a recent site visit at kilometer zero in Bodo.

Despite encountering difficult terrain and natural challenges, the project was completed within the approved budget, resulting in savings that will fund additional features such as streetlights and tree planting along the road. The total contract sum is reported to be 15 billion naira per kilometer, with the project expected to be fully commissioned by November 2025.

Governor David Umahi has directed the removal of barricades to allow partial traffic flow until the final asphalt surface is completed. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to commission the road, which is crucial for linking Bonny Island to the rest of River State.
