Kwara Monarch Kidnapped, Ransom Set at 400 Million Naira

In the early hours of Saturday, armed men, numbering around ten, stormed the palace of a traditional ruler, Olayinka, in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara, abducting him along with another individual residing at the palace. The bandits have demanded a ransom of 400 million naira for the release of the monarch.

This incident marks the second kidnapping in the area, with reports indicating that the bandits have threatened to kill their victims if their demands are not met. In response to the alarming situation, the chairman of the Ifelodun Local Government, Yusuf, visited the community on Saturday morning to reassure residents of the efforts underway to secure the monarch's release.

He expressed deep concern over the incident and emphasized the need for swift action in collaboration with security agencies. Local security operations, including forest guards and vigilante groups, have intensified their search efforts in the surrounding areas to ensure the safe rescue of the traditional ruler.
