Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed May Defect to ADC Soon

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has indicated a possible defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with a formal announcement anticipated on Thursday. During a meeting with a delegation from the ADC, led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal, Governor Mohammed expressed dissatisfaction with the PDP's internal conflicts and the failure of reconciliation efforts.

He noted that despite attempts to resolve disagreements within the PDP, the situation remains serious, prompting him to explore options with other political platforms. The ADC has shown willingness to accept him, and discussions are ongoing with various stakeholders.

Mohammed criticized the role of federal minister Nyesom Wike in exacerbating divisions within the PDP. The ADC aims to build a strong opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Lawal emphasizing the need for unity among Nigerians to rescue the country.
