Ndume Urges Tinubu to Secure Release of 400 Abducted Residents

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has called on President Bola Tinubu to intensify efforts to secure the release of 400 residents abducted from Ngosh community in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State. The abduction occurred on March 4, 2026, when Boko Haram fighters from the Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati Wal-Jihad faction overran the community, destroying homes and taking mostly women and children.

Ndume expressed disappointment over the government's failure to protect lives and property, despite military efforts to reclaim the area. He urged the federal government to take urgent action to secure the release of the captives and to initiate reconstruction efforts in Ngosh, which has already received N100 million for resettlement and rehabilitation.

Ndume also highlighted the need for the Nigerian Armed Forces to sustain their operations against insurgents until they are completely eradicated, emphasizing the community's desire to return home safely.
