Court Rejects Sowore's Evidence of Tinubu Calling Jonathan 'Drunkard' in Cybercrime Trial

The Federal High Court in Abuja rejected evidence presented by activist Omoyele Sowore claiming that Bola Tinubu once referred to former President Goodluck Jonathan as a 'drunkard.' During Sowore's cybercrime trial, the court ruled the document inadmissible. The Department of State Services (DSS) denied knowledge of Tinubu making such remarks.

Sowore's lawyer questioned DSS on corruption issues in Nigeria, with DSS officials dismissing corruption allegations. The court also heard denials of knowledge regarding the murder of politician Funsho Williams and allegations linking Tinubu to wrongdoing abroad.

The trial was adjourned until March 5. Sowore faces charges for posts made in August 2025, shortly after Tinubu declared his anti-corruption stance.

Sowore pleaded not guilty to the charges.
